St. Gall hosts
annual turkey dinner

Elburn—St. Gall will host its 127th annual St. Patrick’s Day Turkey Dinner on Sunday, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Parish Hall, 120 W. Shannon St., in downtown Elburn.

The sit-down family style dinner will include turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, corn, green beans, cole slaw, cranberries and bread. Dessert is also included in the price and includes pies, cookies and cakes made by its parishioners.

Prices are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, $4 for children 6-12, and children under 5 eat free. Carry-out is available by calling the Legion Hall at (630) 365-6530, and the cost is $8 per order. If you have any questions or are interested in helping, call Jeff or Carrie Walter at (630) 365-3707.

Sugar Grove UMC hosts
annual bread, soup,
salad benefit

Sugar Grove—The Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will host its annual Spring Bread and Soup and Salad Benefit Luncheon on Sunday, March 21, from noon to 1 p.m.

The community is invited to join the church in an hour of sharing and enjoy a variety of soups, salads, breads and desserts.

The luncheon seeks to raise funds and awareness of hunger and poverty in the world and to learn about some of the United Methodist programs designed to alleviate these hardships. There is no cost for the luncheon, and a free will offering will be received for this outreach effort.

The luncheon will be at the Sugar Grove Community House, 141 Main St. Call the church office at (630) 466-4501 for additional information.

St. Charles Episcopal
offers Taize Service

St. Charles—St. Charles’ Episcopal Church, 994 N. 5th Ave. (Route 25), invites the community to a Taize Service Sunday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m.

This worship tradition began many years ago in the ecumenical French monastic community called Taize. It is a quiet service of meditation, readings and music.
