Louise Guth

Louise M. Guth, 90, a resident of Drummond, Wis., died on Friday, March 5, 2010, at the Ashland Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Louise was born on March 14, 1919, in Blackberry Township, Ill., to parents Wallace and Mabel (Swanson) Peterson.

On May 2, 1942, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Guth in Aurora. While living in the Chicago/Aurora area, she found work as a seamstress. The couple resided in the Chicago/ Aurora area until 1965, when they moved to Elburn, and finally moving to Drummond in 1986. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Cable, Wis., and enjoyed reading and sewing. She loved to help others, and was loved by others.

Louise is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill; sons, Kenneth of South Elgin, Ill., Charles (Barbara) of Richmond, Ill.; two grandchildren, James of Hebron, Ill., and Laura (Eric) Hanson of Waukee, Iowa, and many nephews and nieces.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary, Hazel, Rose; and brothers, Clarence and Charles.

A memorial service for Louise Guth will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Cable, Wis. Pastors Lynn Larson and Deb Pyne will officiate the memorial service. A time of gathering with family and friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church on March 27. Interment will be at a later time in the River Hill Cemetery in Batavia, Ill.
