Sugar Grove UMC hosts
annual bread, soup,
salad benefit

Sugar Grove—The Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will host its annual Spring Bread and Soup and Salad Benefit Luncheon on Sunday, March 21, from noon to 1 p.m.

The community is invited to join the church in an hour of sharing, and enjoy a variety of soups, salads, breads and desserts.

The luncheon seeks to raise funds and awareness of hunger and poverty in the world and to learn about some of the United Methodist programs designed to alleviate these hardships. There is no cost for the luncheon, and a free-will offering will be received for this outreach effort.

The luncheon will be at the Sugar Grove Community House, 141 Main St. Call the church office at (630) 466-4501 for additional information.

offers chili supper

Elburn—Community Congregational Church of Elburn will host a Chili Supper on Saturday, March 27, at 5:30 p.m.
Bring a pot of your favorite chili and whatever toppings or side dishes you enjoy the most. There will be an opportunity to taste all the various chilis.

The church is located at 100 E. Shannon St. in Elburn.

St. Charles Episcopal
Holy Week services

St. Charles—St. Charles Episcopal Church, 994 N. 5th Ave. in St. Charles, invites the community to observe Holy Week services.

The Holy Eucharist will begin in the Memorial Garden on Palm Sunday, March 28, at 7:30, 9 and 10:45 a.m., weather permitting. The service will include the distribution of blessed palms.

A service of light and darkness, prayer and meditation, will end in silence Tuesday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m.

A Holy Eucharist will be followed by the Watch at the Altar of Repose until the next morning on Maundy Thursday, April 1, at 8 p.m.

A Holy Eucharist from the Reserved Sacrament to end the Watch will be held on Good Friday, April 2, at 9 a.m. Intergenerational Stations of the Cross will be at 11 a.m., and a Holy Eucharist will be distributed from the Reserved Sacrament at 7:30 p.m.

The monthly outdoor Labyrinth Walk will be held at noon on Saturday, April 3.

The Great Vigil of Easter will begin with the lighting of the Paschal Fire in the Memorial Garden on Sunday, April 4, at 6 a.m. There will also be a Holy Eucharist at 9 and 10:30 a.m. with special joyous music.

Two Guys
and Free Spaghetti

St. Charles—Two Guys and Free Spaghetti will provide a homemade spaghetti and meatballs dinner to anyone who attends the monthly event held at St. Charles’ Episcopal Church 994 N. 5th Avenue, (Route 25) in St. Charles. This month’s event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 28.

Faith Baptist Church
offers Easter Egg hunt

Geneva—Faith Baptist Church at Mill Creek will host its second annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 28, at 3 p.m. at the church, 1S455 S. Mill Creek Drive, Geneva.

The day’s event will include a family craft and story time.

This event is free to children of all ages, and will commence rain or shine.
