March 18 police blotter
The following reports were obtained from local police departments. The individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
â€¢ David A. Klaput, 41, of 414 S. Sixth Avenue in St. Charles, was arrested at 6:32 a.m. March 15 for driving while his license was suspended. Police stopped him after checking his plate registration as he was driving east on East North Street east of Third Street.
â€¢ Julie B. Welch, 46, of 112 N. Read Street in Elburn, was arrested at 4:05 p.m. March 15 for driving while her license was suspended. Police stopped her on Route 38 at Pouley Road after checking her license plate number and finding it was suspended.
â€¢ Jackie Napier of Warren, Ohio, perpetrated a scam against a Sugar Grove resident who was selling stereo equipment in the amount of $200. Napier obtained $1,600 from him through deceptive practices using Western Union. The resident filed a report on March 4.
â€¢ Someone transferred $981 out of a Chase Bank account belonging to a Sugar Grove resident and into a U.S. Bank account belonging to someone named Jim. The resident filed a report on March 3.
â€¢ Someone purchased a T-Mobile handset with an account belonging to a Sugar Grove resident, who filed a report on March 9.
â€¢ Someone caused $2,000 worth of damage to a Ford F-150 parked in the 200 block of Bastian Drive between March 6 and March 7.
â€¢ Oliverio Bonilla, 20, of the first block of Sugar Lane, Sugar Grove, was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license at 9:02 a.m. on March 10. He was eastbound on Galena Boulevard and Hankes Road.
â€¢ Someone stole a metal basketball post and rim worth $250 from a driveway in the 1000 block of Forest Trail, Sugar Grove, on March 10.
â€¢ Someone used the social security number of a Sugar Grove resident to open an AT&T account for an I-Phone. The resident filed a report on March 11.
â€¢ Richard T. Jarvis, 30, of the 800 block of Victoria Circle, Montgomery, was arrested for criminal trespass to land at 102 Meadows Drive at 1:47 p.m. on March 11.
â€¢ Sugar Grove police apprehended two teenagers after they attempted to steal four cases of beer from the Jewel Food Store on Route 47 in Sugar Grove. The arrest took place at 1:10 p.m. on March 12. Arrested were Joseph A. Zarete, 18, of the 600 block of Wacker Drive, Yorkvile, and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Oswego. Zarete was charged with one count of retail theft. Additionally, he and the juvenile were cited for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor, illegal transportation of alcohol and possession of fireworks.
