St. Gall announces
Holy Week schedule

Elburn—St. Gall Catholic Church, Elburn, will begin Holy Week with the blessing of palms at all weekend Masses, 4:30 p.m . on Saturday, March 27, and 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m., as well as 5 p.m., on Sunday, March 28. The solemn procession will take place at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday liturgy.

Liturgies for Holy Week include the following: Holy Thursday, April 1, Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7:30 p.m., followed by a period of adoration; Good Friday, April 2, Stations of the Cross at 1 p.m., Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion, 7:30 p.m.; Holy Saturday, April 3, Blessing of Easter Foods at 11 a.m.

The Easter Vigil will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 3. Please note the usual 4:30 p.m. Saturday Mass was cancelled.

offers chili supper

Elburn—Community Congregational Church of Elburn will host a Chili Supper on Saturday, March 27, at 5:30 p.m.
Bring a pot of your favorite chili and whatever toppings or side dishes you enjoy the most. There will be an opportunity to taste all the various chilis.

The church is located at 100 E. Shannon St. in Elburn.

Sugar Grove UMC
Holy Week services

Sugar Grove—The public is invited to experience a Seder Meal observance of the Last Supper of Jesus on Thursday, April 1, at 7 p.m., at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, 176 Main St.

It will feature a symbolic meal by candlelight, where passover food will be served while readings are given by children and youth.

On Easter morning, April 4, Sugar Grove UMC will offer an Easter Cantata Celebration at 8 and 10:30 a.m., featuring vocalists, readers and musicians playing piano, flute, oboe, violin, cello, percussion and other instruments.

Immanuel Lutheran
offers Holy Week worship

Batavia—Daily worship opportunities for Holy Week will be offered at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 950 Hart Road.

Palm Sunday worship will be at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27; and 8, 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, March 28. The 10:45 a.m. service is a contemporary format; all others are traditional.

Morning devotions will be at 7:15 a.m. Monday through Friday in the chapel. Pastor Donald Moll will lead the 20-minute programs.

Maundy Thursday worship will be at 3:45 and 7:15 p.m., with Holy Communion at both services. Good Friday worship will be at 3:45 and 7:15 p.m.

Easter Eve worship will be at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, in the church sanctuary.

Festive Easter worship will be at 6:30, 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday, April 4, in the Family Life Center. The two earlier services are traditional, with music by the Christus Choir, a brass choir, percussion, hand bells, organ and piano. The 11 a.m. service will be contemporary. Holy Communion will be celebrated at all three services.

St. Charles Episcopal
Holy Week services

St. Charles—St. Charles Episcopal Church, 994 N. 5th Ave. in St. Charles, invites the community to observe Holy Week services.

The Holy Eucharist will begin in the Memorial Garden on Palm Sunday, March 28, at 7:30, 9 and 10:45 a.m., weather permitting. The service will include the distribution of blessed palms.

A service of light and darkness, prayer and meditation, will end in silence Tuesday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m.

A Holy Eucharist will be followed by the Watch at the Altar of Repose until the next morning on Maundy Thursday, April 1, at 8 p.m.

A Holy Eucharist from the Reserved Sacrament to end the Watch will be held on Good Friday, April 2, at 9 a.m. Intergenerational Stations of the Cross will be at 11 a.m., and a Holy Eucharist will be distributed from the Reserved Sacrament at 7:30 p.m.

The monthly outdoor Labyrinth Walk will be held at noon on Saturday, April 3.

The Great Vigil of Easter will begin with the lighting of the Paschal Fire in the Memorial Garden on Sunday, April 4, at 6 a.m. There will also be a Holy Eucharist at 9 and 10:30 a.m. with special joyous music.

Two Guys
and Free Spaghetti

St. Charles—Two Guys and Free Spaghetti will provide a homemade spaghetti and meatballs dinner to anyone who attends the monthly event held at St. Charles Episcopal Church 994 N. 5th Ave., (Route 25), St. Charles. This month’s event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 28.

Faith Baptist Church
offers Easter Egg hunt

Geneva—Faith Baptist Church at Mill Creek will host its second annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 28, at 3 p.m. at the church, 1S455 S. Mill Creek Drive, Geneva.

The day’s event will include a family craft and story time.

This event is free to children of all ages, and will be held rain or shine.

Faith Baptist offers
upcoming special services

Geneva—Faith Baptist Church at Mill Creek will offer a variety of special services starting with a Joint Holy Thursday worship service on April 1 at 7 p.m.

On Good Friday, April 2, the church will hold an Ecumenical Worship Service at 7 p.m. Please note that this service will be held at Kaneville United Methodist Church.

The church will also hold Easter Sunday worship services, both at Kaneville United Methodist Church, on April 4, at 8 and 10:30 a.m.

An Easter choir cantata will be held at Kaneville United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 11, at 10:30 a.m.
