Grace UMC, St. Mary’s,
host High Seas Vacation
Bible School Kick-off

Maple Park—Grace United Methodist Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Maple Park will host their High Seas Vacation Bible School kick-off and registration at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 16, at Grace UMC, 506 Willow St.

Visitors can see what lessons will be learned at the High Seas VBS this summer. VBS takes place July 26-29.

Bring a friend to the kickoff and receive a prize. There will be a dessert bar following the presentation. For more information about Grace UMC VBS, call Theresa Miller at (815) 827-3596.

Sugar Grove UMC offers
chili supper on April 24

Sugar Grove—The Sugar Grove United Methodist Church invites the public to a benefit chili supper on Saturday, April 24, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Community House, 141 Main St.

Free-will donations will help send the church’s pastor, the Rev. Steve Good, to Haiti to assist with earthquake relief efforts. Good speaks Haitian Creole and has participated in many mission trips to the poorest nations in the western hemisphere.

Immanuel Lutheran
offers one-day trip
to Amish Country

Batavia—The I AM group of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 950 Hart Road, will have a one-day trip to Indiana Amish Country on Saturday, April 24. I AM is Immanuel’s Senior Citizen group. The tour is open to anyone.

The group will leave the church at 7 a.m. and arrive back at approximately 8 p.m. The fee is $98 with a minimum of 30 participants and includes all admissions, dinner, a McDonald’s breakfast and snacks, all tips and gratuities.

Transportation will be by deluxe motor coach. The tour will leave from the church.
