May 7 police blotter

The following reports were obtained from local police departments. The individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Elburn
• Jason A. Humm, 35, of the 400 block of Willow Street in Elburn, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. May 4 for driving while his license was suspended. Police stopped him for disobeying a stop sign at Prairie Valley Drive and First Street in Elburn.

• Victor L. Liner, 29, of the 3300 block of Bailey Street in Plano, was arrested at 2:44 a.m. on May 2 for driving while his license was suspended. Police stopped him on Route 47 at North Street in Elburn for speeding.

• Evion L. McCoy, 21, of the 8100 block of Bishop Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 3:10 a.m. May 1 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Police stopped him on Route 47 at Capes Drive for speeding.

• Orlando Rickey Hampton, 26, of the 300 block of South Seeley Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 4:38 a.m. for driving while his license was suspended. Police stopped him on Route 47 at Shannon Street in Elburn for speeding.

• Cindy A. Costello, 45, of the 1000 block of Kendall Street in Elburn, was arrested at 3:31 p.m. April 28 for passing school buses that were loading children in front of Blackberry Creek Elementary School in Elburn. The buses’ stop signs were deployed and their red warning lights were flashing when the offense occurred.

Sugar grove
• A resident of the first block of Sugar Lane, Sugar Grove, reported on May 3 that someone stole items from their apartment between April 28 and April 29. A Sony camcorder valued at $500, five lingerie outfits valued at $100, five to six pairs of underwear valued at $10 and one box of Trojan condoms valued at $15, were reported missing. Police found no signs of forced entry, and an investigation is continuing.

• A resident of the 100 block of Cobbler Lane, Sugar Grove, reported on April 30 that a DeWalt worksite radio, valued at $169, was taken from their garage sometime between the evening of April 28 and the evening of April 29.

• On April 29, a resident of the 400 block of Brookhaven Circle, Sugar Grove, reported a burglary after someone entered the garage of the residence and took a DeWalt miter saw valued at $750, an Irwin laser direction mount valued at $65 and two outrigger clamps valued at $40. A neighbor reported seeing a gold, four-door Chevrolet Cavalier driving up and down the street six to seven times before stopping in front of the residence. A white, heavy-set male in his 20s or 30s exited the vehicle and was seen approaching the garage.

• Someone stole a hydraulic cylinder from a core aerator implement being stored in the 900 block of Wheeler Road. The cylinder was valued at $250.

• An Aurora resident was taken into custody at the Sugar Grove Police Department on a warrant out of Aurora. Cheryl L. Bartle came to the Sugar Grove Police Department on an unrelated issue before being taken into custody. Bartle posted bond and has a May 11 court date.
