Lady Knights volleyball plows through H-BR, Geneseo

KANELAND—The Lady Knights improved to 4-4 in the early outset of the season after a 25-13, 25-10 sweep of the host Lady Royals of Hinckley-Big Rock on Thursday, followed by an Northern Illinois Big XII crossover with visiting Geneseo. The Lady Knights beat the Maple Leafs 25-27, 25-15, 25-22.

Against H-BR, Katy Dudzinski had 14 kills, two aces and five digs. Teammate Jess Lubic added 17 assists, four digs and three kills.

Malory Groen had five kill,s and Kylie Siebert added 12 digs and three aces.

The sophomores beat the Lady Royals 25-10, 25-14.

The freshman squad won by a final of 25-13, 25-16.

Against Geneseo, the Lady Knights got 13 kills and two blocks from Dudzinski, and a 10 kill, 21 assist, three block effort from Lubic.

Asset Taylor Bradbury had 13 assists and two aces. Siebert added 18 digs, two aces and 16 receptions.

Sophomore action on Saturday saw KHS win 25-14, 25-10, and the freshmen handled their match 25-14, 8-25, 25-13.

The Lady Knights storm into the Bartlett Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 11.
