Sugar Grove police blotter

The following reports were obtained from the Sugar Grove Police Department. The individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.


• Kristine Bethel, 23, of 7 Knollwood Drive in Montgomery, was charged with DUI at 1:40 p.m. on Jan. 4 in the BP gas station parking lot at Route 47 and Cross Street.

• Christopher J. Bartolone, 26, of 1531 N. Campbell, Chicago, was charged with DUI at 12:40 a.m. on Jan. 24 at Route 56 and Galena Boulevard.

Possession of cannabis, drug paraphernalia
• Timothy Perez, 19, of 774 Chasewood Drive in South Elgin, was charged with speeding, driving with a suspended license, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at 10:02 a.m. on Jan. 24 at Route 56 and Golfview Drive.

Retail theft
• The Sugar Grove Jewel reported the theft of 12 cartons of cigarettes at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Feb. 1. The total value of the cartons taken was $564. The suspect, caught on videotape, was a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a large build, wearing all black clothing including a black baseball hat. The suspect left a black/gray Speedfit multi-task right-handed glove on the counter.

Breach of peace
• James J. Connolly, 22, of 128 Hickory Drive in Carpentersville and Grant D. Wenger, 25, of 1411 Indian Lane in Carpentersville, were charged with ordinance violations of disorderly conduct while at a party in the first block of Main Street at 3:41 a.m. on Feb. 8.
