KHS grad will perform with NIU Jazz Ensemble

KANELAND—Tickets are still available to attend the Northern Illinois University Jazz Ensemble Concert with special guest Wycliffe Gordon on Friday, Nov. 19, in the Kaneland High School auditorium.

The concert begins at 6:45 p.m. with a special performance of the State Street Dance Studio, followed by a brief performance by the Kaneland High School Jazz Band.

The NIU Jazz Ensemble and Wycliffe Gordon will perform following these opening performances. Joel Ream, a 2008 Kaneland graduate, plays guitar in the NIU ensemble, which is directed by Ron Carter. Ream is majoring in music at NIU and studying with Fareed Haque, a jazz guitarist and past performer at the Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival.

Tickets prices are $10 for adults, $8 for students/senior citizens, and $23 for the Festival Family Ticket (admitting all members of one family who currently live in one household).
