Kaneville UMC offers annual Christmas program
Kaneville—The Kaneville United Methodist Church will host its annual Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 12, at the 10:30 a.m. service.

The program is titled “Follow the Star,” with selected solo performances.

English Congregational
hosts annual cookie walk

Big Rock—The English Congregational United Church of Christ, 301 Rhodes Ave., Big Rock, will host its annual Cookie Walk from 6 a.m. to noon on Friday, Dec. 10.

Cost is $6.50 per pound.

St. Paul’s United
Church of Christ offers
cookie walk, bake sale

HINCKLEY—St. Paul’s United Church of Christ will hold its annual cookie walk and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11.

Homemade cookies and candy will be available for $6 per pound. There will also be a bazaar and mini craft show, including beautiful silk arrangements and wreaths, bows, jewelry, handmade cards, crocheted items and much more.

St. Paul’s is located on the corner of View and McKinley Street in Hinckley. The church is handicap accessible and has lots of parking. The church is home to many talented bakers and crafters, so mark your calendars.

Fox Valley Festival
Chorus holiday concert

AURORA—The Fox Valley Festival Chorus is brewing up a special holiday tea party experience for its annual holiday concert, “Angels, Saints, and Santa Claus,” to be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May (corner of Galena and May) in Aurora.

In addition to a concert filled with holiday favorites—both classical and contemporary, the afternoon will include a brief sing-along. Following the concert, all are invited to a tea party reception featuring treats and special holiday beverages.

Tickets for the concert are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $8 for students grades 8 and under, and $25 for a family of five. Raffle tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. Tickets for both are available from chorus members and at the door.

Sanctuary Church offers
Christmas Showcase

BATAVIA—Sanctuary Church in Batavia is having its annual Christmas Showcase at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12.

This year’s program is “Scenes of Christmas,” featuring J. Brian Hill, Candy Kless and the Halliwells.

This is a free event but the church asks that you bring one nonperishable food item for the Batavia Food Pantry.

Christmas Cookie Sale

MAPLE PARK—St. Mary’s of Maple Park will hold its annual Christmas Cookie Sale from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, at St. Mary’s Novak Center on County Line Road in Maple Park.
Homemade cookies will be sold for $6 per pound. Choose your own. Advance orders for assorted cookies may be placed until Dec. 15.

Christmas Cantata

NORTH AURORA—There will be music in the air at Union Church at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19, as it presents the Christmas Cantata, “I Cannot Tell.”

Christmas Cantata

SUGAR GROVE—The Sugar Grove United Methodist music department will present a Christmas Cantata, “Night of the Father’s Love,” on Sunday, Dec. 19, at both the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services.

All of the mystery, the awe, and the palpable excitement of that night are imaginatively captured in a Christmas mosaic that combines fragments of the familiar with Pepper Choplin’s always-unique perspective in word and music. 30 singers and instrumentalists will bring you this exciting worship experience that will both captivate and reassure all of us that, indeed, Christ is born.

Christmas musical at Northwest Bible Church
ELGIN—The Christmas musical “Amazing Grace” will be presented by the Northwest Bible Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 5:15 p.m.

The musical will feature 10 special selections arranged by Majesty Music’s Ron and Shelly Hamilton, sung by the church’s 70-voice adult choir and joined by a children’s ensemble in part.

This special Christmas musical presentation is free and will precede the church’s regular Sunday evening service at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend this festive event.
