Sugar Grove—The Sugar Grove Village Board on Tuesday recognized the service of Trustee Melisa Taylor, who will leave her current position within the next few weeks to join the Kane County Board. Taylor won her primary election last February and then ran unopposed on the ballot in November.

“I look forward to the challenges that I’ll have over (on the Kane County Board),” she said. “I’m really glad that I have a chunk of municipal knowledge that the people I currently work with helped me to get. The knowledge here (on the Village Board) has been priceless for me.”

Taylor’s Village Board seat will remain open until the municipal election in April 2011.
