Lady Knight bowling falls to Huntley, Sycamore

KANELAND—Kaneland bowling ran into tough luck against two familiar foes as it entered 2011.

On Jan. 6, the Lady Knights dropped a 2,438-1,916 matchup with host Huntley High School, and fell to Sycamore on Thursday, 3,007-2,471, at Mardi Gras Lanes in DeKalb.

With the two losses, Kaneland finds itself 1-9 in dual meet competition.

Kaneland was led by junior Morgan Wojciechowski’s 422. Fellow junior Seleana Isaacs bowled a 403 to supplant the effort. Top game was bowled by freshman Amanda Strayve.

For Huntley, the top series was bowled by Amy Antezak at 569.

In JV action, Kaneland was edged by the Red Raiders in a 1,586-1,489 skirmish. Colleen Ryan bowled a 331 series for KHS.

Against Sycamore, the Lady Knights were led by Holly Thomas’ 563 series and Wojciechowski’s 480 series. Thomas’ 184 game was tops for KHS.

Ahead for Kaneland bowling is a crossover home meet with Ottawa on Thursday, Jan. 13.
