Concert helps church
celebrate centennial

GENEVA—St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva recently hosted an ecumenical concert to celebrate its parish centennial.
St. Mark’s Episcopal and Geneva Lutheran churches performed individually, and as a combined choir led the entire congregation in a final hymn of praise. St. Peter’s pastor, Rev. Martins Emeh, and John Grune of Rockford—both concert organists—performed selected classical pieces. Soloist Betsy Easton, also from Rockford, added her voice to the program.
Hundreds gathered for the event and mingled after the program at a reception.

Bethany Lutheran
offers dinner dance

BATAVIA—The public is invited to Bethany Lutheran’s annual dinner dance, “An Evening in Paris,” on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m.
A gourmet dinner will be enjoyed by Chef Jim Smigo. Dancing and atmosphere provided by Bethany’s Congregational Life Committee.

Care4Caregivers
Support Group

St. Charles—Hosanna! Lutheran Church will hold its monthly Care4Caregivers Support Group meeting on Saturday, Feb. 19, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
This next meeting will feature a presentation by Pam Sebern on the differences between normal aging and dementia. Sebern has served as executive director of Arden Courts in Geneva for the past eight years.

Elburn—Community Congregational Church in Elburn offers to help you bring some new life into your marriage during a free, seven-week workshop presented by Rev. Michelle Prentice-Leslie.

Men’s Club Chili Supper

Kaneville—The Kaneville United Methodist Men’s Club will host a chili supper on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the church basement.
Come enjoy a fun evening of music and food. The chili will range from mild to wild, and hot dogs will be available.Dine in or carry out.
Listen to country bluegrass by The Good Old Boys Gospel Singers.
A free-will offering will be accepted.

offered Feb. 27

ST. CHARLES—Two Guys and Free Spaghetti will provide a homemade spaghetti and meatballs dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27. The meal will include a beverage, salad, Italian garlic bread and homemade dessert to anyone who attends the monthly event held at St. Charles Episcopal Church, 994 N. 5th Ave. (Route 25) in St. Charles.
