‘Dynamic Child’ event addresses autism spectrum

KANELAND—Parents and professionals are hungry for knowledge about autism spectrum disorders. “The Dynamic Child,” an all-day education event at Kaneland High School on Saturday, Feb. 19, addresses that need.

Chantal Sicile-Kira, international speaker and award-winning author, will present on Attaining Essential Abilities for Life. Other featured speakers include Julie Gamradt, M.S., CCC-SLP, augmentative communication specialist and director at the Waisman Center, UW-Madison, and Julia Beck of The Red Kite Project, an education initiative of the Chicago Children’s Theatre.

The Autism Society of Illinois is sponsoring a continental breakfast at the Dynamic Child, which will include gluten-free/casein- free french toast, chicken bacon and potato pancakes for families to try.
