Paul Davis Restoration of Kane, Kendall, West Cook counties announces scholarship

AURORA—Jack O’Connell, owner of Paul Davis Restoration of Kane, Kendall, and West Cook Counties, has announced that his company will support local firefighters by sponsoring a scholarship award.

The scholarship is for any child or dependent of a firefighter or emergency medical personnel who plans to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited community college, college, university or technical college.

To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in high school or as an undergraduate student. A parent or legal guardian must be a current volunteer or a career fire and rescue responder in the following towns: North Aurora, Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles and Elburn.

Applications will include the parent or guardian’s name, e-mail, address and school information along with related fire station contacts. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay on what it means to have a parent or guardian as a firefighter. Submissions are due on Monday, May 30. On Wednesday, June 15, awards will be announced.
