SUGAR GROVE—The Sugar Grove Village Board on Tuesday voted 5-0 to approve the transfer of property from the Sugar Grove Park District to the Kane County Forest Preserve.

The transfer would include parcels A and B of the Strafford Woods subdivision, which was initially approved in 1989, and then transferred to the Park District upon its creation in 2004. According to a document from Community Development Director Rich Young and Village Planner Mike Ferencak, the two parcels are adjacent to Kane County Forest Preserve District property.

The document also states that, if transferred, the parcels would continue to be used as parks and the village would continue to maintain the easements over them.
