SG Library celebrates Summer Reading

By on June 10, 2011

SUGAR GROVE—The Sugar Grove Library has a summer of fun-filled events planned for families. There will be movies, sword-fighting and a sock hop.

Registration for Summer Reading begins on Saturday, June 11, at 9 a.m. Opening day is always a special day with fun events, special guests and prizes. Registration for weekly and community events will also begin on this day. Some restrictions do apply, so check the details carefully.

This year, the library will have guest authors for children and teens to visit with and find out about books to read this summer. They can win a free copy of an author’s book.

Special guests ride Andalusian horses and demonstrate their riding techniques outside on the lawn on the fire station side of the library at 11 a.m.

The cafe will have specially priced hot dogs grilled outside (weather permitting), or inside if inclement weather. A kid’s meal with a small kid-size hot dog and chips will be $2.50 (tax included), and for adults, a hot dog and chips will be available for $3.50 (tax included).

Library Card registration is available on this and every day the library is open. Bring a photo ID and another item to show of residency (check book, utility bill, car insurance, etc.). For those under age 18, a parent must be present and also have a library card. Card registration ends daily 15 minutes before the library closes.
