Bridal show and luncheon
In celebration of its centennial anniversary, St. Gall Catholic Church recently held a Bridal Show and Luncheon. St. Gall to hold
Veteran’s outdoor Mass
ELBURN—St. Gall Parish is celebrating its centennial anniversary. The parish history is a major focus during this centennial year and reveals many parishioners who have served in the United States military.
St. Gall Church will hold a special Veteran’s Mass on Sunday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at the St. Gall Cemetery, located on Route 47 in downtown Elburn. This special Mass is offered in remembrance of those deceased, a number of whom are buried in the parish cemetery, and in thanksgiving to those living service men and women.
American Legion members from the community will also be in attendance. Names of all parishioners known to have served will be read in a special prayer.
Bring lawn chairs or blankets for this special mass. All community members are invited to attend.
Names of those involved in military service—living or deceased—are needed. Please contact the St. Gall Parish office at (630) 365-6030 to submit a name to be recognized.
Respect Life Mass
GENEVA—St. Peter Church in Geneva will come together with the Diocese of Rockford on Tuesday, July 5, for a monthly time of prayer and a Mass offered for the protection of all life and for an end to abortion.
The prayer and Mass will be held at St. Peter Church, 1891 Kaneville Road in Geneva. The Rosary is recited at 6:40 p.m. followed by Mass at 7 p.m. Questions can be directed to the parish office, (630) 232-0124.
Vacation Bible Study
ELBURN—Vacation Bible Study will take place July 11-15, from 9 a.m. to noon at Community Congregational Church, 100 E. Shannon St. in Elburn.
Children, ages 4 through fifth grade, are welcome. The cost for the week is $10 per child.

Lord of Life holds VBS

St. Charles—During the week of July 25-29, Hosanna! Lutheran Church will hold its annual Vacation Bible School, “God’s Wild Ride,” from 9 to 11:45 a.m. each day. This free event is open to all children who will be 4 years of age by Sept. 1, up to and through students entering fifth grade. Church holds VBS 2011
BATAVIA—Bethany Lutheran Church will hold its Vacation Bible School, “Jesus Chooses Us!” from Monday through Friday, Aug. 8-12, from 9 a.m. to noon.
