Girls XC gets by two opponents

KANELAND—A seasonable Tuesday yielded an ideal result for Lady Knights cross-country on Tuesday.

With opponents West Chicago and Wheaton Academy invading Elburn Woods on Tuesday, Kaneland’s 31 points bested West Chicago’s 37 and Wheaton Academy’s 58 points.

Leading the way was sophomore Sydney Strang, whose time of 15 minutes, 22.2 seconds was tops in her field.

In second place was teammate Abby Dodis, who finished the Elburn Woods landscape at 15:32.9. After three opposing runners crossed, Lady Knight Maggie Brundige took sixth at 16:44.9, while fellow KHS counterpart Aislinn Lodwig took seventh at 16:45.1.

Girls cross-country now gears up for the Oregon Invite on Saturday, Sept. 3.

That is followed by a home matchup on Tuesday, Sept. 6, with East Aurora and Yorkville.
