Metra parking permits go on sale tomorrow

ELBURN—Starting Tuesday, Sept. 20, the village of Elburn will issue quarterly parking permits for use at the Elburn Metra commuter parking lot. Parking permits for the rest of 2011 are $85. The cost is based on the $1.25 per day now charged for 60 days in the quarter, plus a $10 administrative fee for printing and processing.

For the convenience of daily commuters to buy the permits, the Elburn Police Department will be open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, Sept. 20-22 and Sep. 27-29, and on Saturday, Sep. 22 and Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Permits should be displayed on the inside rear view mirror of vehicles to be seen from the traffic aisle.

Permit forms are available on the village website at, which can be printed out and brought in at the time of purchase. The village accepts payments in cash, check or by credit card. The permits are on a first-come, first-served basis, and no applications will be accepted by mail.
