St. Gall to hold
annual golf outing

ELBURN—St. Gall Church will host its third annual golf outing on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 9 a.m. at Hughes Creek Golf Course in Elburn. The cost is $85 per player and includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch at the turn, and dinner. There will also be fabulous prizes and many fun golf contests.
Single and double players are encouraged to register, as the committee will make up foursomes. Caring for the Caregiver Conference at Hosanna! Lutheran Church
ST. CHARLES—A conference focusing on the caregiver and their needs will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, hosted by Hosanna! Lutheran Church.
Over 40 professional organizations and service providers from across Chicagoland will be on site to answer questions on topics including legal and financial issues and family conflict, care receiver living options and self-care options for the caregiver. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

High Holidays services
in Geneva

Geneva—Come observe Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) with a full slate of religious services in Geneva. All services will be led by Rabbi Fred Margulies of Geneva.
Last year, Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors (FVJN) held the first ever service in the Tri-Cities, for this holiday season. Approximately 100 people attended the service at FVJN in Geneva. This year offers complete services for the High Holidays, and in a location better equipped to accommodate the larger number of people expected.
Etz Hasadeh Learning Center of Pushing the Envelope Farm and FVJN are hosting this year’s upcoming High Holiday services. All services are open to everyone, regardless of affiliation, and will be held at FONA, located at 1900 Avrill Rd., Geneva, IL. No tickets are needed.
Following is the complete schedule of services:
Wednesday, Sept. 28, 7:30 p.m. Rosh Hashanah evening (erev Rosh Hashanah) service
Thursday, Sept. 29: 10 a.m. Rosh Hashanah service; 10:30 a.m. Torah reading; 11 a.m. Sounding of the shofar; Noon, Tashlich (“casting our sins upon the water”) at the FONA pond. Kiddish and lunch following the service, childcare will be provided for children of service attendees. Anyone interested in having an honor (aliyah) or participating in the service, please e-mail fred@fvjn.org. Lunch will be vegetarian/dairy. Main dishes, water and coffee will be provided. Childcare will be provided for children of service attendees. Feel free to bring refreshments for your own children, as children under the age of 9 are not permitted to fast. FVJN is a nonprofit Jewish community group composed of Jewish individuals and interfaith families located in central Kane County and nearby towns. The goal of this group is to develop a cohesive Jewish community in the Fox Valley area for religious, charitable and educational purposes.

Boys Life Plan Weekend
A Boys Life Plan Weekend is scheduled Oct. 21-22 for eighth through 11th grade boys to help them plan for what they will do after high school. The weekend includes career and interest testing, career process development, a bags tournament, an overnight campout with a bonfire and three meals included.
