Golfers solve Morris after Streator setback

ELBURN—Kaneland High School golf continues to get exceptional efforts from a nicely gelling roster, despite suffering two of three losses.

Going back to last week’s loss at Sycamore, Kaneland also dropped a 150-156 matchup at Streator on Sept. 14 before rallying against Northern Illinois Big XII rival Morris on Tuesday by a final of 151-168.

Against the host Bulldogs, the Knights (7-4) saw noteworthy scores from Brody Kuhar (36), Luke Kreiter (37) and Adam Grams (41).

The JV team was edged by Streator 198-199.

In the win over Morris, the visiting Knights saw a 34 from medalist Matt Yonkovich, a 37 by Kreiter and a 40 from both Zach Douglas and Troy Krueger. Grams also managed a 41 score.

The JV roster came away with a 177-199 win.

The varsity troops head off to DeKalb for a meeting with the Barbs on Thursday, Sept. 22.
