Village explores snowplowing costs

By on February 10, 2012

ELBURN—The cost of plowing two inches of snow off the streets of Elburn is calculated to be $2,468 each time it snows. Village President Dave Anderson said that with finances growing tighter, being aware of the costs will help the village make decisions about when to plow.

“It’s a good number to keep in mind as finances get tighter and tighter,” he said. “We might choose not to plow at two inches, but instead at 4 inches.”

Put the salt down and wait for 4 inches. Then too lets all take into consideration to file bankruptcy for our Elburn town. That way all the salary and unions can be renegotiated to lower levels. Then too to eliminate all the added extra perks, and special interests that eat up a large part of our tax payer’s money that has been and still is being foolishly spent.

Elburn Police budget = $1.2 million per year, Village Hall = $700,000 per year, and no place left to cut?
