Children’s choir offers Swedish meatball dinner

BATAVIA—”If you liked our pancakes, you’ll love our meatballs” is the theme of the second annual Swedish Meatball Dinner presented by the Swedish American Children’s Choir on Saturday, March 10, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln St. in Batavia. The dinner will feature Swedish meatballs and gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, lingonberries, Swedish rye bread and dessert.

Also featured will be Swedish gift items for purchase, Swedish and American Baked Goodsfor sale and live Swedish music, including a brief performance by the Swedish American Children’s Choir. All proceeds from the event benefit the choir tour fund for a performance tour this summer.

The choir is the largest of its kind in the Midwest and comprised of children 4-16 years of age from the Fox Valley and surrounding suburbs. They present performances of Swedish songs and Scandinavian dances throughout the area.

Dinner tickets are by reservation only and carry-out orders are available. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children 3-10 years old, and free for children under the age of 3.
