Elburn—The Elburn Days carnival has something for everyone—fun but tame rides for the youngsters and more exciting rides for the older kids, no matter how old.

According to Elburn Lions member and carnival coordinator Joe Kryszak, there’s also something that parents of all ages appreciate. Family-owned Skinner Amusements runs a clean, safe operation.

“They are on top of their game—they always have been,” Kryszak said. “They do random drug tests (on their employees) nine times a year.”

Kryszak added that Skinner, which has been in business for over 100 years, conducts background checks on everyone as well, so no one needs to worry about the people operating the rides.

“They’re nice people, and they interact well with the people,” he said.

Wrist bands are available for purchase for $16, and are good for any and all rides for one of these three-hour timeslots: between 6 and 9 p.m. on Friday, as well as 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

There are no wristbands on Sunday, but Kryszak said that Midway Madness is a great deal. For $16 you can purchase 10 tickets, and for just one ticket, you can go on any ride on Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.

“That’s only $1.60 a ride,” he said.

Some rides take as many as four or five tickets the rest of the weekend, so this is really a bargain, he said.
