ELBURN—Each year, Health Care Services Corporation honors employees who exemplify the spirit, principles and actions of diversity and inclusion at work and in the communities it serves. This year’s winner of the Raymond F. McCaskey Diversity and Inclusion Award is Jeff Walter, Elburn Village Board trustee and senior manager, IT Portfolio Solutions Delivery, Chicago headquarters. Jeff has been with HCSC for seven years and has championed diversity and inclusion from the start.

Jeff is very active in the Supporters of Military Veterans, which is an HCSC business resource group (BRG). He is chairman of the group, and in the past served as communications director. Jeff started a grassroots effort to hire more veterans at HCSC by educating managers on the benefits of doing so. He also helped to form the Veteran Hiring Task Force, which has led to increasing the number of veterans hired at HCSC.

Jeff is a strong advocate of BRG and sees them as an asset in recruiting and retaining talent. He is also very supportive of several external organizations, including the Elburn Lions Club, an HCSC community partner.
