Trustees: top soil should stay in Blackberry Creek

ELBURN—Now that the village has taken ownership of the park at Blackberry Creek Drive and Patriot Parkway in Blackberry Creek Subdivision, Village Board members on Tuesday discussed what to do with the pile of dirt within the incomplete pedestrian path.

In the past, B&B Enterprises principal Charlie Blood allowed local contractors to use the top soil as they needed. Public Works Superintendent John Nevenhoven has asked several contractors to stop using the soil for purposes outside of Blackberry Creek until further notice.

Board members were in general agreement that the dirt should be saved for lots within Blackberry Creek as new homes are built.
