KANELAND—First responders were called to Fox Valley Career Center at 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday to respond to a non-life threatening accident involving a staff member. No students were injured in the incident.

“The accident involved a teacher who suffered some burns,” Kaneland Superintendent Jeff Schuler said.
First responders determined that the staff member would be transported by helicopter, and a Life Star Helicopter landed on the east side of Kaneland High School to transport the staff member.

All Fox Valley feeder schools were notified of the incident and were asked to check in on their students who may have been around the accident scene to provide support.

At around the same time, a Fox Valley student in a different program experienced some heat-related symptoms. The student was stable, but was transported via ambulance as a precaution. The parents of the Fox Valley student were notified directly.

“The student is doing fine. The medical attention was a precaution,” Schuler said.
