Letter: A huge garage sale thanks

By on May 22, 2014

The Elburn and Countryside Community Center would like to thank the many local community members who selflessly donated to our garage sale on May 16 and 17.

We had an overwhelming amount of clothing, furniture, antiques, books, toys, games, fishing gear, sports equipment and too much more to mention donated to us. We appreciate your kindness. The proceeds from the event will be used to refurbish the Community Center’s hallway floors, update the first-floor bathrooms, purchase paint for the walls, and many other small projects around the property.

We would also like to thank all the people that stopped by the sale to purchase something. Without your purchases, we would not have raised enough money to start any of our projects. We are continually looking for new ideas and have other ideas planned throughout the year. We hope that you can be a part of them.

Upcoming events include a community-wide “Chow Down” on Sunday, July 13, where we will have a barbecue pork dinner, outdoor activities, live music and more for families to enjoy. An adult wine tasting event, “Class in a Glass,” is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11. And don’t forget the annual Christmas Stroll on Friday, Dec. 5. We hope that you can attend any and all of our events. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

The Elburn and Countryside Community Center is a not-for-profit organization, and relies on community donations to be able to provide activities for the community.

If you would like to volunteer, donate or share your ideas, stop in at 525 N. Main St., Elburn, call (630) 365-6655, or email us at ElburnCCC@gmail.com.
