Bliss, Merrill road construction reaches milestone
The construction on Bliss and Merrill Road has reached a milestone, with the removal of the driving surface of Bliss Road down to the original clay. The roadway is being moved 15 to 20 feet to the east and the intersection at Bliss and Merrill has been cut by two and a half feet. The deepest cut on the roadway is next to the driveway at 754 Bliss Road.

According to Kane County Department of Transportation Senior Construction Manager John Guddendorf, the project is still “primarily” on schedule, with the completion date set for Aug. 15.

“We just need some dry weather,” Guddendorf said.

Limited paver stones available for purchase
Sugar Grove Library Director Beverly Holmes Hughes said there is still limited time for residents to leave their legacy in Sugar Grove by purchasing a paving stone for the new building’s walkway. A paving stone with engraving is available through Tuesday, June 30, for $50, and can be purchased at the library at 54 Snow St. Call (630) 466-8646.
