Kaneland volleyball nabs WSC win over Rochelle

Two-game win over Lady Hubs starts conference season in style
MAPLE PARK—Not a bad way to start the conference season if you’re Kaneland High School volleyball.

The Lady Knights, struggling to find their footing, calmed down enough for a two-game victory over the visiting Rochelle Hubs.

The 25-13, 25-11 victory on Tuesday night improved Kaneland’s record to 3-4 (1-0 Western Sun Conference).

Sophomore Katy Dudzinski supplied four kills, three aces and two blocks.

Teammate Kylie Siebert added five digs, while Jessica Lubic produced with five assists, three kills and three aces. Alyssa Snyder had two blocks and two kills.

The sophomores fell to the Lady Hubs 25-17, 25-21.

Both freshmen levels were victorious on Tuesday, with the “A’ girls winning 25-15, 23-25, 25-15. The “B” team swept a 25-20, 25-20 affair.

On tap for the Lady Knights volleyball squad is a road trip to Glenbard South on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m., and a home matchup against the visiting Sycamore Lady Spartans on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m.
