ELBURN—Rosati’s owner A.J. Hussain decided to open a larger restaurant in Elburn even while other businesses are downsizing. The restaurant moved to a new site Sept. 2 in the Jewel-Osco shopping complex, directly across the street from its former location.

Hussain, who has a master’s degree in finance, believes the new site will be a success. The reason is, so many people told him they wished his Elburn carryout restaurant had seating.

Now it does.

“A lot of people would call and ask, ‘Do you have seating?” Hussain said. He regretted having to say no, especially because the community has been so supportive of his business since he bought it in 2007, he said.

The new Rosati’s offers a casual dining area that can seat 20 people, in addition to carryout and delivery services. In addition, beer and wine are available to sit-down customers.

Although the new location has been open just a week, Hussain said business has been strong.

“We’ve had a really good response,” Hussain said.

The new Rosati’s space has never been occupied. Hussain spent the past month going back and forth from the restaurant’s Prairie Valley commercial center site to the new location to supervise construction and equipment installation.

“We had to put in plumbing, electrical, the kitchen—it’s all new,” Hussain said.

A large-screen TV hangs on one wall. Customers can sit and enjoy a meal while watching sports, the news or anything they want, Hussain said.

Rosati’s hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

In addition to the seating and alcoholic beverages, Rosati’s new location in Elburn has new menu items, including
* Chicken-bacon-ranch pizza
* Fried ravioli
* Pizza puffs
* Cheese curds
* Stuffed pasta shells
* Desserts including turtle
cheese cake and triple
chocolate cheesecake
* A kids menu featuring
chicken nuggets and spaghetti
with a meatball
