Sunday School at SGUMC
SUGAR GROVE—The Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, 176 Main St., Sugar Grove, invites children (starting at age 3) and adults of all ages to their weekly Sunday School classes at 9:15 am.

The adult class will begin with the theme: “How to be a Christian without being Religious,” answering the questions, “Does God ever grade on a curve?,” “Is your faith more than fire insurance?,” and “How can all things work together for good?”

Harter Rock concert Sept. 19
SUGAR GROVE—The public is invited to a free outdoor Christian rock concert in Sugar Grove from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 19, at 4S633 Harter Road. Harter Rock features four bands, hayrack rides, volleyball, refreshments, and frisbee golf. Blankets or lawn chairs are recommended.

First-ever St. Gall golf outing Sept. 19; Gala event Oct. 3
ELBURN—St. Gall is hosting its first golf outing on Sept. 19 at Hughes Creek Golf Course, Elburn. A shotgun start will begin at 8 a.m. Lunch is included along with raffle items, door prizes and a chance to win a new car with a hole-in-one.

The cost for 18 holes plus lunch is $75 per person.

St. Gall will also host its second annual St. Gall Gala Event at 6 p.m. on Oct. 3 at Pheasant Run in St Charles.

The event features a silent auction, live auction and dancing with appetizer service.

Hosanna! Lutheran Church Garage Sale
ST. CHARLES—Want to get more for your money and support your community? From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, Hosanna! Lutheran Church will have its first garage sale.

Twenty percent of all proceeds will go to Lazarus House, the St. Charles-based homeless and transitional living center. This event will be held rain or shine.

Hosanna! is located at 36W925 Red Gate Road (entrance just east of Randall Road) in St. Charles.

St. Peters Barn Sale bigger than ever
GENEVA—The 2009 Barn Sale hosted by St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.

The barn sale features more than 90,000 square feet of department store-style shopping at the Kane County Fairgrounds, located at the corner of Randall Road and Route 38 in St. Charles.

All items are pre-owned and are discounted heavily.

A country breakfast will be available at 7 a.m., with the sale starting at 9 a.m. on both days.
