Knights golf goes 2-2, gears up for homestretch

While the Kaneland golf team earned some nice non-conference wins this past week, Western Sun Conference competition provided a tad tougher.

On Thursday, the Knights (4-7, 2-5 WSC) lost a 168-172 clash to host Glenbard South. On Monday at Hughes Creek in Elburn, Kaneland’s score of 164 bested both Indian Creek (171) and Plano (182).

Tuesday had the Knights drop a 153-165 matchup with Batavia at Fox Valley G.C.

Against the Raiders, Josh Schuberg shot a 42, as did Zach Douglas. Hayley Guyton managed a 43, while Tyler Hochsprung shot a 45.

Taking on the Bulldogs, Kaneland had to deal with a solid 36 from Batavia’s Tim Schofield.

Troy Krueger and Guyton shot a 40, while Schuberg hit a 41. Hayden Senese contributed a 44 for the Knights.

On the JV end, Batavia took the meeting in a 177-187 affair.

Adam Grams shot a 45.

Varsity golfers travel to Genoa-Kingston for the G-K Invite on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 9 a.m. The Knights also host Belvidere North on Monday, Sept. 28, at 4 p.m.
