Geneva—The Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission will hold a dedication ceremony of the new Persian Gulf War Plaque on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m.

The plaque will be unveiled at the Kane County Memorial, located at the Government Center in Geneva. The memorial honors all county veterans who, from the Spanish American War to the current conflicts, laid down their lives defending freedom.

The program on Veterans Day will display a list of each name inscribed on the Memorial Wall of Honor, with related military information, military records and other related materials. On display will be newspaper articles of the Veterans Memorial before construction, during construction, the dedication of the Memorial on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, 2004, and after the memorial was dedicated.

Pictures of early memorial concepts, groundbreaking ceremony and the dedication, and rededication of the memorial will be available for review.

In the event of inclement weather, the documents will be available for viewing in the auditorium of Building A of the Kane County Government Center.
